BUCS to Birmingham - A Durham Success

Durham University have ranked #6 on the BUCS medal table for Birmingham's Commonwealth Games 2022. Out of 32 different universities that had athletes medalled at the games, Durham had alumni and present students representing England, Wales and Cyprus in hockey, fencing, rugby 7s and volleyball.

BUCS Round-Up 2021-2022

Durham have had an exceptional year for University Sport, going above and beyond and providing a season to remember. DURFC Men did not disappoint, racking up the most BUCS points this year, closely followed by Men's Cricket. Women's Rugby, Volleyball and Futsal soared to the top of the table this year, contributing over 100 BUCS points each to support Durham's 3rd place reign. Athlete Spotlight: Tash Morrice of DUBC

From novice to the national stage - DUBC's Tash Morrice is a testimony to the Development Programme here at Durham. Tash has soared through the boat club and progressed in many ways, maintaining executive positions whilst racing her way through crew boats; from BUCS silver medals to competing at Women's Henley in the Champ Pair - Morrice will be representing DUBC on the world podium in Italy later this month.

Zambian Commonwealth Games Team Visit Durham

The National Olympic Committee and Commonwealth Games Association of Zambia will be visiting Durham University for a pre-Commonwealth Games holding camp in advance of Birmingham 2022's Commonwealth Games. The team will be staying for 9 nights in one of our prestigious colleges, and The Sport and Wellbeing Park will host their training with state of the art facilities in advance of the games.

Palatinate Dinner 2022

The Palatinate Dinner saw a host of Team Durham athletes past and present, receiving recognition for their sporting efforts and commitments to their respective clubs. Awards included Honorary Palatinate for Outstanding Contribution to Sport, Full and Half Palatinates, Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year, Club of the Year, Team of the Year, Honorary Life Membership and Outstanding Performance of the Year.
