As a Durham student, you'll find a wide support network available to you while studying at the University. Our aim is for you to feel well, comfortable, and able to get the best out of all aspects of your university experience.

We can offer, or can direct you to, a range of services and facilities. Whether through your College, the Students’ Union, or the central support teams, you will find that there is someone accessible if you need help. Here are the main areas covered.

    Disability Support offers advice and guidance to both prospective and current students within the University. We also arrange appropriate provision for disabled students, as well as offer support to those who think they may have a disability.

Student Safety

Durham University is committed to providing a safe environment in which our students can live and study, and we provide advice and information on things you can do to help keep yourself and your fellow students safe.

The University is a safe place to live, work and study. We are a partner on Durham's City Safety Group, working closely with Durham County Council, Durham Constabulary, Students Union and Durham Cathedral to ensure the city is a safe and welcoming environment.

Nursery Facilities

Our University Nursery in Durham caters for children from 6 weeks to school age. It is open from 8:00am to 6:00pm Monday to Friday throughout the year.
