The 2024 Ørsted scholarship for Energy Master's programmes

This year, we have three bursaries each worth £6500 available for students on three of our beginning beginning in October 2024:

How to apply

The deadline for the Ørsted scholarship applications is Friday 6 September 2024.

Candidates must send a 400-500 words supporting statement answering two questions:

  • Why did you choose your programme?
  • Why should you be considered for the scholarship?

The statement should be emailed to our Durham Energy Institute Manager Lynn Gibson at lynn.gibson@durham.ac.uk before the deadline

About our strategic partnership

Ørsted is the global leader in offshore wind. Its operations in the UK also include other renewable technologies, like batteries, hydrogen, and biogas. It also provides green energy to UK businesses.

The strategic partnership with Durham includes collaboration with Durham Energy Institute researchers on a number of research projects and activities, as well as funding for the Chair of Green Energy Systems position at the University. This is the eighth year Ørsted is offering scholarships for our Energy Master's programme
