MARLIN Star project showcased by Innovate UK for G7 summit
Our Marlin Star project Frontier Technical is one of 8 case studies chosen for the Innovate UK EDGE G7 SERIES showcase.
As global leaders gather for the G7 Summit in Cornwall to discuss building back better from the COVID-19 pandemic and creating a greener, more prosperous future, Innovate UK are showcasing the outstanding South West innovators that are delivering on these goals.
Our Marlin Star project with Frontier Technical is one of 8 case studies chosen for the Innovate UK EDGE G7 SERIES showcase.
Funded by the Energy Catalyst programme, the project is developing and commercialising an innovative modular, floating renewable energy platform that will enable coastal community access to stored and transferable clean energy.
DEI is leading on the socio-technical research in island communities in Bangladesh and India to inform the product design. To avoid the unintended consequences of many renewable energy projects in developing countries where remote communities are left with no specialist expertise to fix the newly installed technology, the modular floating energy platforms are designed to be operated and maintained by people with no specialist training or qualifications.
