Durham University are blessed with an abundance of students who have gone about and beyond in their respective sports, flourishing in their talents and representing their respective countries to the highest of levels. This year's no different; Durham are exceptional proud of the sporting efforts of all their athletes, including those who have been called up to represent their countries across a range of different sports.

As we reach the end of Michaelmas term, we would like to provide you with a round-up of all of our major sporting highlights since the summer. Read on for our BUCS round-up of the season, and future prospects for our highly successful teams.

The weekend of the 26th and 27th of November, saw the long-awaited return of the Angel of the North team racing event, held at Derwent Reservoir Sailing Club and hosted by Durham University Sailing Club and Newcastle Sailing Club. Storm Arwen revoked all possibilities of sailing last year, everyone was keen to make this year a massive success. Over 140 sailors from universities across the country took to the water on Saturday morning to commence the round-robin series of races.

Durham's University and College Sport teams took on the challenge in supporting changing the face of men's health, in this year's Movember 2022. We have highlighted below some of our committed Team Durham clubs, and their efforts to getting more people talking about men’s health issues such as prostate and testicular cancer, and mental health prevalent in male suicide rates.

All four of Durham's men's teams cooked up a storm at the University Men's Indoor Regionals 2 weeks ago. 3 fighting finishes and a spot in the national finals.

Durham University Sailing Club (DUSC) competed last weekend in the BUCS Fleet Racing Championships, claiming 3 medals (1 silver and 2 bronze) and also achieved 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th positions in the laser fleet.
