Chandika Shrestha (IHRR/Geography PhD student funded by the Christopher Moyes Memorial Foundation) passed her viva with minor revisions.
Chandika thesis titled, Post-disaster Wellbeing of Women: a Case Study of the Gorkha Earthquake in Dolakha, Nepal, was a mixed method consideration of how the aftermath of the event influenced people's wellbeing. The external examiners were Professor Jonathan Rigg (University of Bristol) and Professor Louise Bracken (Northumbria University). The supervisory team included Professor Sarah Atkinson (Durham University) and Dr Niall Cunningham (Newcastle University, formerly with Durham Geography) and Dr Katie Oven (Northumbria University, formerly with Durham Geography).
Chandika was an IHRR/Geography PhD student sponsored by the Christopher Moyes Memorial Foundation.
