Professor Markian Prokopovych, Dr Hanna Ruszczyk and Fleur Riley discuss prospects and challenges of partnerships with Ukraine
The UK-Ukraine Research Twinning Showcase and Networking event was held in Liverpool and hosted by Liverpool University on 26-27 March 2024.
Professor Markian Prokopovych from the Department of History, Dr Hanna Ruszczyk from the Institute of Hazard, Risk and Resilience (IHRR) and DCAD Fellow Fleur Riley represented Durham University. They presented the Multidisciplinary Approaches to Building Research Capacity and Resilience through Partnerships during Conflict project (2023), Durham University’s twinning with Zaporizhzhia National University and the series of Ukrainian talks in Durham. They discussed prospects and challenges of partnerships with Ukraine include the importance of interdisciplinarity, whether and how to go beyond collecting evidence from the present war and considering the global scope of the war in Ukraine.
