We've been named Sports University of the Year 2023 reflecting that sport is central to life here for many of our students.
Over the past 10 years, we've invested £47 million in sporting facilities and have been placed in the Top 3 of the British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) overall competition table every year.
But it's definitely not just about performance sport. With over 75% of our students participating in sport or physical activity – including coaching, officiating and event volunteering – we have one of the largest student sport participation programmes in the world. From joining a team of beginners trying out a new sport in your college to competing at senior international level, there are opportunities for you to get involved regardless of your skill or experience!
