The Centre for Sustainable Development Law and Policy aims to raise the awareness for the importance of environmental law for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals. To this end the centre is welcoming Justice Brian Preston, the Chief Judge of the Land and Environment Court of New South Wales, as a visiting professor.

The Centre for Sustainable Development Law and Policy is welcoming Justice Brian Preston, the Chief Judge of the Land and Environment Court of New South Wales, as a visiting professor. 

Justice Preston has lectured in post-graduate environmental law for over 30 years. He has published extensively on environmental law, including Australia’s first book on environmental litigation and many articles, book chapters and reviews on environmental law, administrative and criminal law.  

Justice Preston collaborated in the development of the 'Durham Global Environmental Law Lecture Series', in which leading justices from the highest courts around the world offer insights from their judicial practice on the application of international environmental law.
