A brochure for the A Way Out conference

Students at our International Study Centre at Queens Campus, Stockton celebrated the third day of Durham Global Week with a Global Day of Sports and activities in recognition of International Women’s Day.

Global Day of Sport

Durham University International Study centre organised a Global Day of Sport in partnership with Teesside charity Shape the Play, which uses football as an engagement tool to reduce health inequality. The activities focused on women’s sport, dance and football. Students took part in a global dance class, with some students demonstrating their traditional dancing.

Social media activity

The students’ sport successes were featured a daily post on the Durham University International Study Centre Instagram account.  The Student Enrichment Directorate also featured some International Study Centre students to acknowledge their participation in DU sport via the Team Durham Instagram account.

A Way Out networking conference

Staff and students attended a conference hosted by the charity A Way Out, which works with women and vulnerable people, and many have volunteered for throughout the year.
