Students at our International Study Centre at Queens Campus, Stockton celebrated the second day of Durham Global Week by preparing and tasting food from around the world and enjoying an Arabian guitar performance.

Food from Around the World: Café Aroma Takeover

Students ate food from countries including Lebanon, China, Pakistan, Thailand, Turkey, India, as well as Middlesbrough’s signature dish, the parmo. This was accompanied by Chai tea, a warming spiced beverage which originates from South Asia.

Arabian guitar performance

Staff and students were treated to an Arabian guitar performance by Shriza Hillo at 1pm in Café Aroma, while enjoying their international lunch.

Student-led food tasting and cooking

At 1.30pm there was a student-led cooking and food tasting and cooking event. Participants entered a competition to cook for for three student judges, with the results expected to be announced on Friday.
