Global Week 2024 Events

Global Week 2024 features an exciting programme of over 50 events led by staff, departments, students and societies, highlighting our global impact and cultural diversity across the University.  
To coincide with International Zero Discrimination Day on 1 March, our theme for this year is 'Inclusivity' and we are welcoming everyone to take part.

Global Week 2024 Special Events

As well as the community events above, the University will be hosting a number of special events as we celebrate Global Week 2024. Find out more about these special events below.

Ustinov SPARK (Students Providing Access to Research & Knowledge) Junior Conferences

Ustinov scholars will visit Key Stage 2 pupils in six local schools, to deliver 3-minute research presentations in bite sized, fun and age appropriate ways!

Global Goals Summit - 24 February, 10am - 3pm, Stephenson College

A convention for young people who want to make an impact on global challenges. Learn more about UN Sustainable Development goals, hear from experts and develop solutions.

Language Detective Outreach Day, 28 February

Pupils from 10 local secondary schools are attending this event run by MLAC, Stephenson and Josephine Butler Colleges to experience studying a language at University.

International Scholars Reception - 28 Feb, 6pm, Oriental Museum

An invitation-only event hosted by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Karen O’Brien at The Oriental Museum to celebrate our international scholarship holders.

Taste the World at Global Week 2024

Experience a variety of global flavours on campus during Global Week 2024, with a different food van on campus each day, plus a week of special menus featuring global cuisine at Zing, Circolo and FUSION Restaurant.
