Instructions to help you identify the correct level of course are listed below by learner category. To refine your choice, also check our French courses | Summary of content at all levels, aiming to select the level that follows the one that best describes your current knowledge.Once you have identified your level, please check for availability of courses in the June programme using the timetable below. Registration is via the link to the right of this page (or below the timetable if viewing on a mobile device).
A Progression Beginners course or a Development Beginners Step 1 course are suitable for those with no prior knowledge of the language.

Below A1 (but not a complete beginner): Our levels in this range, in ascending order, are Beginners Step 2 and Elementary (or the Step 1 or 2 parts of Elementary).
Between A1 and A2: Our levels in this range, in ascending order, are Lower Intermediate and Intermediate (or their Step 1 or 2 parts).
Between A2 and B1: Our levels in this range, in ascending order, are Higher intermediate and Advanced (or their Step 1 or 2 parts).
B1 and above: Starting at around B1, we offer Higher Advanced 1 and Higher Advanced 2 courses (or their Step 1 or 2 parts) in some languages.
