JB College also provides a 'College Experience Programme' specifically for pre-sessional students. This is designed to:
The 'College Experience Programme' includes formal dinners (a very big tradition at Durham University), trips to local highlights, city trips, as well as informal events such as film nights or rowing.
We were all members of Josephine Butler College when we were studying in the pre-sessional course. JB really helped me to feel comfortable in a foreign country far away from home. We had a mentor night every week. My mentor would tell us interesting stories about Durham city. We also discussed about the University and traditional events in the UK. Josephine Butler College also held formals and balls for the presessional students. These were very unique experiences for us and also a great chance to make new friends. The best part was that we also had trips to other cities. My friends and I visited York, Edinburgh and Alnwick Castle and had a wonderful time!
