The Department of Sociology, Durham University is delighted to announce a new partnership agreement with the Department of Applied Social Sciences of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

The Department of Sociology, Durham University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department of Applied Social Sciences of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The signing ceremony took place at the 2nd International Conference of the ASEAN Social Work and Social Development 2025 in Thailand this January. This marks a pivotal moment in strengthening our connection with one of Asia’s leading universities, and our wider engagement with ASEAN countries.

The MoU underscores our commitment to fostering global partnerships and advancing impactful research that transforms lives both locally and globally. The partnership is part of our ongoing effort to enhance our contribution to world-changing research excellence through collaboration and innovation.  

Joined by hundreds of social workers, academics and policy makers in Bangkok, we celebrated the partnership between Durham University Department of Sociology and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Department of Applied Social Sciences.
