Artificial intelligence (AI) methodologies are transforming many areas of basic and applied science, in many cases quite quickly.
Medical ultrasound imaging (sonography) is one such case. In this case the pattern recognition strength of AI, particularly deep learning, can make sense of acoustic patterns as well as
AI-based tools are also changing the scientific process across different science disciplines. I will discuss how this is challenging scientific communities, particularly relating to reproducibility, trustworthiness and skills.
