London Alumni Enjoy Drinks Event
St John's College alumni gathered for a lively evening at the Escapologist Bar in Seven Dials on Wednesday 15 November for a special Alumni Drinks event to meet the new Principal, Professor Jolyon Mitchell. The atmosphere was one of nostalgia and camaraderie as Johnians, particularly from the 1990s and 2000s, turned out in impressive numbers.
Revd Dr Nick Moore appointed as new Warden of Cranmer Hall
We are delighted to announce the appointment of the Revd Dr Nick Moore as the new Warden of Cranmer Hall. Nick, who is currently serving as Academic Dean at Cranmer Hall, will take up the role as Warden at the start of the Michaelmas term. He succeeds the Revd Canon Dr Philip Plyming.

Philip Plyming appointed Dean of Durham Cathedral
The College is delighted with the news that the Warden of Cranmer Hall, Revd Canon Dr Philip Plyming, has been appointed as the new Dean of Durham Cathedral. This is an exciting new phase for both Philip and the Cathedral and strengthens the already strong partnership St John's holds with the Cathedral.
Professor Jolyon Mitchell appointed as new Principal
We are delighted to announce the appointment of Professor Jolyon Mitchell as our new Principal.
Professor Mitchell, who is currently at New College, University of Edinburgh, will take up the role as head of St John’s on 1 September 2023.

Bishop Pontien Joins as Visiting Fellow
We are delighted to have Bishop Pontein with us as a Visiting Fellow from 15 April to 5 June.The Right Revd Pontien Ribakare is currently Bishop of the Diocese of Rutana in Burundi, Central-East Africa. He also serves as Chairman of the Board of the Bujumbura Christian University (BCU’s governing body) as well as Chairman of the General Assembly of the Burundi Mission Alliance. He is also a member of the Anglican Consultative Council, within the Anglican Communion.
In Memoriam: Paul Burbridge
It is with great sadness that we learnt over the weekend of the death of Paul Burbridge after a short illness. Paul was co-founder of Riding Lights Theatre Company in the 1970s which was strategically significant in opening the arts as a place for Christian creative thinking, mission and ministry.
