Travel

The Congregation ceremony will be held in Durham Cathedral, which is located on a hill in the centre of Durham within the city congestion charge zone.

However, students must report to the Teaching and Learning Centre at least 2.5 hours prior to the ceremony to register their attendance and collect their robe and guest tickets. They must then report to the Great Hall (in the Castle) 1 1 hour 15mins prior to their ceremony to be lined up.

Guests are welcome in the Teaching and Learning Centre. The guest queue is located on Palace Green next to the Information Hut. Guests will be directed form the queue into the Cathedral from approximately 45 minutes before the ceremony start time.

Parking in the city will be busy so please allow plenty of time for your journey. There are various car parks situated around Durham, including Durham's Park and Ride service, and the metered on-street parking. There will be no vehicle access to Palace Green during Congregation.
