Join Durham Global Week celebrations

Durham Global Week 2025 will take place from Saturday 1 – Sunday 9 March. The theme for this year’s Global Week is ‘Culture – Community – Connect’ and the university warmly invites all staff, students, and members of the wider community to join in the wide range of activities taking place to recognise, celebrate and learn from the international, multilingual, and multicultural diversity that defines us as a global university.

Former Lord Chancellor returns to Durham

Durham Law School graduate Sir Robert Buckland KC MP returned to Durham on 18 November for a Durham Union Society debate on prison rehabilitation. Sir Robert was Lord Chancellor and Justice Secretary and Durham’s first graduate to become a law officer. He received the Dean’s Award from Durham Law School and was joined by then Dean, Professor Thom Brooks. During the event and afterwards, Sir Robert spoke of his time in government and of his many happy memories at Durham University.
