Durham University and Team Durham are proud to announce the success of our existing students, as well as our alumni, representing their respective countries at Birmingham 2022 this year.

We now have a Durham RIOT Science Club, which is part of a RIOTS network supported by UKRN. This network organises talks and seminars to share Reproducible, Interpretable, Open & Transparent Science practices.

We are excited to be welcoming an exhibition featuring an internationally significant collection of Roman artefacts to our Museum of Archaeology.

Since the inception of our Mathematical Sciences department, we have expanded significantly. Our student and staff numbers have gone up resulting in an enhanced global research reputation for Maths.

We are delighted to welcome the Zambian Commonwealth Games Team to Durham as they train and live on campus on the run up to the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Durham Law School is looking forward to welcoming 30 school pupils from Years 8-10 on 23 March for the first in a new programme of ‘Introduction to Law’ outreach sessions, delivered in partnership with Slaughter and May.

Durham County Council, in alliance with Durham Energy Institute, joined together on 1st November to host a “COP Durham” event, welcoming 50 organisations across the County to Beamish Hall Hotel.

Our Volunteering and Outreach team has launched the annual Festive Food Drive 2023 to collect as many food items as possible to help families who need a little extra support this Christmas. This year we’re aiming for a bumper Food Drive as we’ve teamed up with our fellow North East universities; Newcastle, Northumbria, Sunderland and Teesside, in a bid to collect as many items as possible and make as big a difference as possible to our local communities across the region.
