Huge congratulations to Ella Merefield and Sophie Ewin on being awarded a 12-week funded internship in Canada, during the summer of 2023. The internship is funded by the Mitacs Internship Program. Ella will be supporting research at the University of Winnipeg and Sophie will be at the University of Regina. Read about their plans in Canada during the internship along with the nature of research they will be conducting.

Outstanding students who balance part-time work with their studies were celebrated at the annual Student Employee of the Year (SEOTY) Awards. Winners were announced across six categories at a ceremony in Durham Town Hall on 30 April.

The Oriental Museum, will be hosting its spectacular Lantern Festival celebration on Wednesday 12 February from 6pm -8pm. Lunar New Year is celebrated across Asia and culminates in a Lantern Festival, when the streets are bedecked with lanterns and people invite good fortune and happiness into their homes for the year ahead.
