Team Durham Minority Ethnic Showcase Event
Team Durham’s Minority Ethnic Showcase will take place at The Sport and Wellbeing Park on Wednesday 15th of June. The event will dedicate a series of matches/sessions from a variety of sports for participants from all ethnic minority communities, highlighting the talented athletes we have representing Team Durham. We encourage clubs to get behind their athletes who represent ethnic minority backgrounds, to come and show their support during the event.

Durham Drama Festival returns for 2022
Now in its 48th year, the annual Durham Drama Festival takes to the stage from 30 January – 6 February in exciting venues across Durham city.
The festival is week-long celebration of new writing created by our students, made up of eight brand new full-length, productions and showcases student-written extracts in a launch night performance. This year promises diverse genres and styles of play with something for everyone.
New exhibition reveals Stories of the River Wear
'Stories from the River: Exploring the history of Durham, the finds of underwater archaeologist Gary Bankhead', launches on Monday 20 February at the Museum of Archaeology within Palace Green Library. The exhibition explores the stories connected through objects discovered in the River Wear, evoking the social history of Durham’s past 800 years.
Pioneering medic knighted by King Charles III
Professor Amritpal Singh Hungin, the founding Dean of Medicine at Durham University, has been named a Knight Bachelor in the 2024 New Year Honours List by King Charles III.
