Recruitment to funded PhD Scholarships with the Aura CDT are now open until the 31 December. Durham University is a partner and Scholarships are available for students to be based in Durham, as well as the partner institutions. PhDs should focus on Offshore Wind and the Environment.

Leading figures from the fields of diplomacy, music and local government will be celebrated by the University with the award of honorary degrees this winter.

After having to postpone our traditional graduation events for two years, we are excited to be delivering a week of Spring Congregation ceremonies in Durham Cathedral for our graduates.
A total of 17 ceremonies will take place from Monday 28 March to Friday 1 April. Students from 120 countries will graduate in the magnificent setting of Durham Cathedral, in the company of their families and friends.
National Storytelling Week: Hear the Stories of our Award-winning Writers
During National Storytelling Week, 30 January – 5 February, we are celebrating the incredible storytelling talents within our University community. Novelists, biographers, poets, playwrights and actors; our academics and our students find diverse ways to tell a good yarn.
Here we hear from two acclaimed writers, Naomi Booth and Claire Harman, who also teach the Creative Writing MA, MLitt and PhD courses run by the Department of English Studies.
