Comparative Criminal Judgments Project publishes first judgments

This practice-facing, decolonisation-minded and best-practice sharing project will create a valuable resource of criminal judgments, drafted by experts on criminal law and procedure from a number of jurisdictions. A comprehensive factual case scenario will form the basis of the judgments, which will be based on the law and practice of each jurisdiction, written in English, but in the style of the relevant court in each jurisdiction.

Welcome to our 2024 Cohort for Multidisciplinary Centre for Postgraduate Training in Energy

On 11th October 2024, Dr Stuart Jones welcomed the 2024 Cohort for Multidisciplinary Centre for Postgraduate Training in Energy (CPT) to the start of Michaelmas term. Our Multidisciplinary Centre for Doctoral Training in Energy (CDT) is one of the longest-running, largest and most successful CDTs at Durham University. Originally funded by EPSRC, DEI has worked to ensure that the CDT continues beyond the original research council funding.

Durham leads Teesside Academic Cluster as part of new Industrial Decarbonisation Research and Innovation Centre

The Industrial Decarbonisation Research and Innovation Centre (IDRIC) has today, Monday, 24 May, received £20m from UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) Research and Innovation Centre as part of the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund programme to decarbonise the industrial sector. Durham Energy Institute researchers are involved in three of the projects funded for the first phase of IDRIC activity.
