Durham University is pleased to announce the introduction of the Khodorkovsky Scholarships which are specifically designed to support Russian students wishing to undertake a second degree at Durham University.
It is the intention of the scholarship programme that Scholars make a meaningful contribution to the development of Russia and promote east/west understanding.
Full payment of annual tuition fees
Postgraduate annual stipend for living costs (UKRI rates 2024/25 £19,237.00)
Undergraduate annual stipend to be confirmed
Other allowances (visa costs, immigration health surcharges and travel etc.)
Overseas
Duration of your academic programme subject to terms and conditions
You must be a national of or ordinarily resident in the Russian Federation
You must also have a first degree from a Russian University and not subsequently have been enrolled in any other degree programme outside of Russia.
Recipients should intend to return to Russia on completion of their studies, when circumstances arise making it appropriate for such return, to make a meaningful contribution to the development of Russia and to promote east/west understanding.
Applicants undertaking online programmes are not eligible.

There is no separate application process for the scholarships however you do need to ensure you have submitted an academic application to Durham University before 7 March 2025.
Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic merit as demonstrated in your academic application to Durham University.
