If you are awarded a scholarship, you agree to maintain contact with the British Council and act as an ambassador for the UK and engage with activities as part of a British Council Scholarships for Women in STEM alumnus, during and after your study in the UK. Any involvement in these activities during your study in the UK will take up no more than five hours per term.

Please ensure you have submitted an academic application to Durham University for one of the eligible programmes by midnight (GMT) 16th April 2024 via the postgraduate online application portal.
When completing your postgraduate online academic application form for your programme of study: In the section on Funding please answer 'Yes' to the question 'Have your either applied or are going to apply for a scholarship?’ Then select ‘British Council Women in STEM Scholarship PGT’ from the drop-down menu.
Please note: the final date for receipt of proof of English Language and all other supporting documents (academic transcripts, references etc. – correctly translated) must have been received by midnight (GMT) 16th April 2024. If you have any issues with submitting any of these documents by the indicated deadline, please contact us via international.scholarships@durham.ac.uk and we will do our best to support you.
In addition to submitting the course application above, please complete and return the British Council Women in STEM Application Form and (once complete) email it by midnight (GMT) 30th April 2024, together with any supporting evidence to international.scholarships@durham.ac.uk.

Accommodation will be provided in one of three Durham University Colleges, Hatfield College, Trevelyan College or Ustinov College.
Hatfield and Trevelyan Colleges are both home to a diverse mix of undergraduates and postgraduate students, the first being Durham's second-oldest college, and the second a historically all female college, with a strong ethos around championing and development of women. Both colleges are led by members of the Science Faculty, with Hatfield College also demonstrating a strong track record for welcoming international scholars, with its Lioness Scholarship for women from developing countries. Ustinov is a specialist postgraduate college, with a diverse community of students from all over the globe.
