Time limit on study at degree level (undergraduate)

Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) Banner

If you’re coming to Durham to study at degree level (undergraduate) and you’ll apply for a Student visa to do this, any time you’ve previously spent in the UK studying at degree level (not including foundation courses) or above on a Student (or Tier 4) visa, will be considered when you apply.

If the length of your new Student visa plus any relevant previous Student (or Tier 4) visas amounts more than 5 years* the visa application would be refused and therefore we can’t issue you with a CAS.

There’s no limit on study in the UK at postgraduate level (master's degree, PhD and other postgraduate courses).
