Biography
I hold a BA in Archaeology from Jilin University China with distinction, and an MA in Archaeology and Heritage of Asia from University College London (UCL. My academic training is rooted in Chinese archaeology and I have extensive fieldwork experience across Central Plain China, Northeast China, Southwest China, Southern China and Hong Kong with periods ranging from the Paleolithic to the late medieval period.
My research interests expanded to Southeast Asia during my undergraduates and postgraduates dissertations, where I focused on Northern Thai Buddhist archaeology. My PhD project focuses on reconstructing and comparing the patterns of Buddhist patronage in the Nanzhao and Dali kingdoms along the Southern Silk Road.
