Biography

Simi completed her undergraduate in Biomedical Sciences at Northumbria University with a year in industry at Procter & Gamble's Newcastle Innovation Centre, where she developed her skills in gathering and interpreting goverment data on water quality. During her time at P&G she made valuable contributions also to innovative product development for the European market. 

In her final year of her undergraduate studies, Simi delved into cancer research focusing on the combined inhibition of pH regulation as a theraupetuic strategy in hypoxic colon cancer cell lines HT29 and HCT116. 

Currently immersed in a PhD program within the BISCOP CTP in partnership with industry, Simi is at the forefront of cutting-edge research. Her work involves developing a correlative bioimaging, force and multiomics platform for skin cell mechanosesning. This project aims to identify new responsive proteins and explore the effects of ageing.
