Biography

Lexie Gao (高倩) is a Ph.D. candidate at Durham University, specializing in international arbitration under the supervision of Prof. Lei Chen and Dr. Can Eken. Her research focuses on reforming due process in AI-enabled arbitration, supported by the China Scholarships Council PhD Studentship. She holds an LL.M. in Arbitration and Dispute Resolution from The University of Hong Kong, where her thesis examined the challenges and future pathways of AI-enabled arbitration in China.

Lexie has gained extensive practical experience through her internships at leading law firms such as Huizhong Law Firm, King & Wood Mallesons, and Dentons. Her work has involved international arbitration, financial regulations, judicial proceedings, etc. She is also an experienced moot court participant and coach, having served as student coach for the Durham University Vis Moot Team and won multiple national and international awards, including Best Oralist and National First Prize in prestigious competitions such as Vis Moot, Jessup, and the CIETAC Cup. In addition, she has participated in advanced legal training programs such as the Austrian Arbitration Academy and the Munich Advanced Course in International Law. She is also a certified translator in China, holding CATTI Level 2 certification in English-Chinese translation.
