Mingyue Xu is pursuing her PhD at Durham Law School as a full-time student funded by the CSC scholarship. She has a multi-interdisciplinary background. Before obtaining her degree of Juris Master from Tongji University in 2024, she earned her bachelor’s degree in Management from Minzu University of China in 2021.

Current research

Mingyue’s research focuses on the intersection of AI regulation and IP protection under the supervision of Dr Angelia Jia Wang and Dr Janey Zheng. Her research aims to resolve the urgent issue of algorithmic opacity with the help of the patent disclosure regime and risk management approaches while mitigating the tension between trade secret protection and algorithmic transparency requirements.
