Biography

PhD project

My PhD research explores queer lived experience of carceral spaces and systems in the UK. Central to this research is a preoccupation with understanding the relationship between bodies and carcerality; questioning how practices of queer embodiment are negotiated by carceral forces and vice versa. This research is informed by queer and feminist theories, and attempts to integrate queer theory more explicitly into the carceral subdisicpline. This project is funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC).
