Staff profile

In my early career, I served as a PC Network Manager at a prominent financial institution. I transitioned into a Project Manager role within the same group managing the implementation of websites. On leaving the bank I did consultancy work while purchasing and working an organic farm with my sister. After selling up we moved to Bahrain in 2004 where, being on a house-wife visa, my job opportunities were restricted. I joined a school as the Examinations Officer for a couple of years and then transferred into the Publications Officer position where I was responsible for the whole school’s publications as well as photographing school events.

I then transferred into the position of PA to the Head Teacher of the Junior School. I finally left Bahrain in 2021 and relocated to the UK. I decided to embark on caring until I had managed to settle down which then allowed me to apply to Durham as the Administrator for the Centre of Programmable Biological Matter under Prof Jonathan Heddle.
