Biography

Beth joined Durham in 2015 as a Senior Teaching Fellow in the Business School following a successful career as an accountant working in the not for profit sector in Northern Ireland. With a keen interest in pedagogic practice, she completed her doctorate in Accounting Ethics Education.

As her interest in learning and teaching developed, Beth moved to a role in Durham Centre for Academic Development where she ran the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice for two years before taking on her latest role as Head of Academic Development.

Beyond the University, Beth is an active member of the British Accounting and Finance Association Accounting Education Special Interest Group Executive Board with responsibility for oversight of their scholarship blog. She also works with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, of which she is a Fellow, on disciplinary matters. Beth also works as an assessor for the Office for Students.
