Dr Ali Ajder
Biography
Ali Ajder received his B.Sc. in electrical engineering and double major in business administration from Yildiz Technical University (YTU), Istanbul, Turkey, in 2008 and 2009, respectively, and his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in power systems from YTU Institute of Natural and Applied Sciences in 2011 and 2017, respectively. He continued his studies at Technische Universität Kaiserslautern in Germany between 2006 and 2007. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Engineering, Durham University, UK. Under the supervision of Prof. Hongjian Sun, he is working on the design and modeling of a microgrid that integrates renewable energy sources, battery storage systems, and hydrogen production. His research focuses on addressing battery storage limitations by incorporating an electrolyzer into the system for hydrogen production, which can be utilized for transportation or reconverted to electricity via a fuel cell. He is also an Associate Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering at YTU. His research interests include power systems, renewable energy, and energy economics.
