DRMC's annual methods lecture, in honour and memory of Professor Christine Merrell, who was a Professor of Education and Deputy Executive Dean (Research) for the Faculty of Social Sciences and Health, will be taking place on:
Thursday 4th May 2023 at 3pm
The Lecture is titled 'Complexity Perspectives on Causality & Evidence' by Dr Lasse Gerrits, the Academic Director of the Institute for Housing and Urban Development Studies at the Erasmus University, Rotterdam.
(Unfortunately, we have just been informed that due to significant illness Dr Lasse Gerrits will be unable to deliver his lecture. However, the Director of the DRMC, Brian Castellani, will deliver Lasse Gerrits lecture, as it is based on a forthcoming book they are writing together, The Atlas of Social Complexity. This will also be an opportunity for Brian to introduce the new themes of the DRMC, which likewise have to do with addressing issues of complexity in causality and evidence.)
The lecture will be followed by a panel discussion with the DRMC team.
This is a public hybrid event: the face-to-face lecture will take place in the Arnold Wolfendale Lecture Theatre, Room CLC013, Calman Learning Centre, Durham University, and be streamed live online.
You can tick the box during registration to request face-to-face access to the event. The number of tickets available for the face-to-face event will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.
There will be a drinks reception and dinner after the lecture at Hotel Indigo, Durham from 5.30pm.
