Konstantin Zamyatin

Dr Zamyatin holds a PhD in Finno-Ugrian Studies from the University of Helsinki. His PhD thesis examines the official status of minority languages, focusing on the case of Russia’s Finno-Ugric republics. Since then he was Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Finnish, Finno-Ugrian and Scandinavian Studies, Faculty of Arts, University of Helsinki, Finland.

In April 2018, Dr Zamyatin joined the Transnational Strand of the Cross-Language Dynamics programme as Durham University’s COFUND Junior Research Fellow. His project explores the transnational ethnopolitics along the EU-Russia border, with particular focus on interactions between the policies of Estonia, Finland and Hungary directed at promoting Finno-Ugric minorities in Russia and Russia's policy in supporting Russian-speakers in these countries.
