The PGECR Network at IMH is holding a conference on 20-21 September 2021, via Zoom.
The theme of the conference is Alternate, Virtual, and Augmented Realities. The aim will be to highlight that the work done in the medical and health humanities can be productively illuminated by accommodating the possibilities of alternate, augmented or even virtual realities. The conference will consider how medical humanities methodologies offer unique insights into the multiplicity of our lived realities and illuminate different ways of being. Central to this is the critical question of how certain realities or experiences get designated as alternative to begin with: who defines the normative parameters of lived experience, how, and why?
The keynote speakers for this conference are confirmed: Dr Joy Egede (University of Nottingham), Dr Louise Creechan (University of Strathclyde), and Dr Curtis Runstedler (University of Tübingen).
The CfP - IMH PGECR Conference Sept 2021 is open now - closing date 30 June.
