SIDur PGR Symposium

The SIDur Exec are excited to announce that the next SIDur PGR Symposium will be held between 10:30-16:30 on Friday, October 11th 2024 in MCS1022 (VisLab) in the Department of Computer Science.

You can find our programme for the day here.

The SIDur PGR Symposium is a half-day research seminar for PGR students across Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics and Engineering whose work includes any aspect of pure, applied or industrial mathematics suitable for a general PGR audience. Free coffee & lunch are provided and it is a great opportunity to practise presenting your research to a friendly audience of interested PGR students.

Why speak at the SIDur PGR Symposium?

  • You’ve got some interesting research to share and we want to hear about it!
  • You’ll get to meet other like-minded PhD students!
  • Did we mention that lunch & coffee are provided?
  • It’s a chance to practise your speaking skills in front of a friendly audience!

So if you’re interested in talking about your research to a friendly audience of like-minded PhD students (of course you are!) then register here to give a 15-minute talk. Presentations should be 15 minutes long with 5 minutes for questions and should be suitable for a general STEM PGR audience with some background in mathematics.

Sign up here to speak at the Symposium.

For previous talks, please see the symposium page.

We aim to make our events as inclusive and representative as possible and encourage speakers from all backgrounds to apply. If you are a member of a minority group we hope you will consider speaking at this event.
