JusTN0W Hiring Now for the Position of Senior Business Development Manager

The Senior Business Development Manager will contribute to increasing and diversifying the project’s income streams and will support the academic team in grant capture activities. The Senior Business Development Manager will provide both strategic and operational support to the lead investigators and the academic team. They should be target-driven, confident and have a good understanding and demonstrable evidence of past commercial activity and ways to diversify income streams, with academia, industry partners and government stakeholders.

Essential Criteria

Qualifications/Experience

1.     A Bachelor's degree.

2.     Proven experience in strategic business planning and development, partnership management, and securing funding, including in an international context and with a variety of partners.

3.     Strong understanding of the industry landscape, trends, and dynamics, in the field of sustainability and just transitions, both nationally and internationally.

4.     Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and credibility with diverse stakeholders.

5.     Ability to lead on the organisation of conferences, workshops and other knowledge exchange initiatives and to participate in international events, fostering new and existing links with stakeholders.

6.     Results-oriented mindset with a track record of achieving and monitoring progress towards targets, driving growth, and delivering impactful outcomes.

7.     Collaborative team player with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary academic environment.

Note: This job description outlines the primary duties and responsibilities of the Senior Business Development Manager for the JusTN0W project at Durham University. However, additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Desirable Criteria

1.     A Masters Degree.

2.     Demonstrable developed negotiating skills with proven experience and ability to confidently persuade senior business partners to invest in research and engagement activities.

3.     Track record of supporting grant capture through writing and reviewing proposals.

4.     Ability to establish pathways to research impact and to support case studies that demonstrate societal change.

5.     Demonstrable experience in communicating with government-level experts and representatives.

6.     Prince 2 or a related Project Management Qualification
