CLAWS Workshop on Ancient Language Research

We are pleased to announce a CLAWS Workshop on Ancient Language Research, to be held at the Department of Classics and Ancient History on Thursday 4th July.

Papers include contributions from Katherine McDonald (Durham), Benjamin Cartlidge (Liverpool), Krishnan Ram-Prasad (Oxford), Nathan Gilbert (Durham) and Jan Dochhorn (Durham). Topics will include Latin, Greek, Sanskrit, Pali and Ethiopian apocrypha. All are welcome - use the 'Contact Us' page for more details.

Spring Language Seminar 2024

CLAWS will be hosting a yearly Spring Language Seminar - a chance for our members to meet and discuss a lesser-known language or script in a casual environment with refreshments.

In 2024, the seminar will be on Oscan, a language of central and southern Italy. The seminar will be led by Dr Katherine McDonald. The seminar will take place in the Classics seminar room (Room 108, 38 North Bailey) on the 7th, 14th and 21st May at 11am. Contact Dr McDonald for more information.
