Abstract
Soil research is going through a renaissance right now – in no small measure thanks to the growing interest in soils in the social sciences, humanities, and the arts. This lecture presents the main aspects of this ‘soil turn’, and reflects on the ways in which engagement with soil is driving new disciplinary, interdisciplinary, and transdisciplinary thinking, leading to novel understandings of what constitutes ‘sustainability’ and what knowledge is needed to bring it about.
This lecture is free and open to all. Registration is not required to attend in person.
Please note, the venue of this lecture is at St Cuthbert Society's Parson's Field site (See map)
