The trophies for the Durham Global Awards

We are inviting nominations from across our community for the Durham Global Awards 2025. The range of ten Award categories celebrate and recognise impact our staff and students make on campus and around the world.

These prestigious awards are a wonderful opportunity to , recognise, celebrate and learn from the contributions our staff, students and wider community make to the cultural diversity that defines Durham as a leading global university.

The ten categories of Award recognise individuals and groups pushing boundaries and bringing the world together through world-leading research, innovations, and bridge-building partnerships.

Nominations are open to students, staff and university partners. So, take the opportunity to acknowledge someone, a team, a college or a project, that deserves recognition for the work they do. Nominations can be made quickly and easily, using the online nomination form, so please submit your nomination now!

By honouring individual excellence, barrier-breaking collaboration, and high-impact projects, the Global Awards celebrate the many ways Durham minds link up and make a difference worldwide.

Global Awards Celebration Dinner

Winners will be announced at the annual Global Awards Dinner, to be held on Friday 7 March 2025 at Stephenson College.

Durham Global Week 2025

The Global Awards are a highlight of our annual Durham Global Week, which will take place from 1 – 9 March 2025. An exciting line-up of events and activities will reflect the theme of ‘Community - Culture– Connections’.

Members of the university community will be encouraged to get involved, by proposing events to add to the programme. Details of the call for Global Week events will be open soon.
