The Marie Curie Field of Hope, in the Botanic Garden, will host a Day of Reflection, on Sunday 3 March, from 10:30am - 4:00pm.
At noon there will be a minute’s silence when visitors are welcome to remember friends and family lost during Covid pandemic. Visitors will be invited to remember loved ones, by writing their names on large yellow petals or ribbons, to tie round the trees in the Field of Hope.
The Field of Hope includes an impressive display of over 4,000 daffodils, the symbol of the Marie Curie Charity, planted by the volunteer Friends of the Botanic Garden in 2022.
Visitors to the Garden can see over 50 different species of daffodils in bloom until late April, when they will be joined by tulips and other spring flowers.
Manager of the Garden, Peter Thomson, is delighted to support this Marie Curie event. He said; “The Field of Hope gives us a stunning display every year. We feel the Botanic Garden offers so many beautiful and peaceful places where visitors can reflect and remember their loved ones, surrounded by nature.”
The UK's leading end of life charity is inviting individuals and communities to remember the people who died during the Covid pandemic, whatever the cause, and to show support for everyone who was bereaved.
