Following the success of our inaugural Durham Global Week, we are calling our vibrant community to nominate candidates for next year’s Durham Global Awards, celebrating diversity and cross-cultural impact.
Nominations now open for Global Awards
We are inviting nominations for the Durham Global Awards, a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the contributions our staff, students and wider community make to the cultural diversity that defines Durham as a leading global university.
The awards will recognise individuals and groups pushing boundaries and bringing the world together through world-leading research, bold innovations, and bridge-building partnerships.
Nominations are open to all students, staff and university partners. So, if you know someone, a team, a college or a project, that deserves recognition for the work they do, please submit your nomination now!
New Global Award categories
The range of Global Award categories will include new Awards for 2024 to celebrate our research projects and partnerships, as well as the contribution our alumni make globally:
By honouring individual brilliance, barrier-breaking collaboration, and high-impact projects, the Global Awards celebrate the many ways Durham minds link up and make a difference worldwide.
Honouring global leaders
Winners will be honoured at the Global Awards Dinner on Friday 1 March 2024 at Stephenson College. The vibrant evening will showcase Durham's international character through cuisine, culture, and stories.
Durham Global Week 2024 also promises an exciting line-up of events highlighting Durham's excellence across research, arts, and student life. Members of the university community are encouraged to propose global events to add to the schedule. Details of the call for events will be open soon.
By celebrating achievements in strengthening global connections, Durham Global Week reflects the university's commitment to diversity and cross-cultural understanding.
