Want to know more about how we interact with our local community?
Our monthly Community Newsletter explores the news, events, and research both at Durham University and in the city itself.
This month, we have some family-friendly events such as the Coronation activities in Durham City, which consists of the Coronation on the Big Screen, the Coronation Tea Dance, and the Big Coronation Party in the Market Place. We have also featured the Pint of Science festival that will take place later this month.
We've also included news that focuses on our local community, including the Enactus Durham student group that has created active projects, the Ugly Fruit Group, Glowcycle, and WeCraft, that take place in Durham City and benefit the local community. We have also introduced information on our new estates project at Rushford Court.
The newsletter's Spotlight section highlights the work our staff does that involves and benefits the local community. This month's Spotlight features Durham Pride, which is a charity that promotes equality and diversity for the public benefit, specialising in the elimination of discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation and gender identity of those living in County Durham and the surrounding areas. We have also included the various Durham Pride events taking place in Durham City this month.
The research conducted at Durham University is world-leading, and we've highlighted a few stories that the local community might find interesting. Learn about black holes, boxing, children's health, and more.
