The annual Student Employee of the Year Awards (SEOTY) aim to recognise and celebrate the achievements of students who combine part time work with their studies. These prestigious awards also recognise excellent student employers, who provide valuable work experience opportunities. With six distinct categories open to individuals and teams, plus the chance of winning £100 vouchers, the SOETY Awards are a great way to celebrate success.
Students can be nominated for their part time role both on campus, working for a a College or Department, or for working off campus, for a company or business in the local area. Nominations are also invited for employers who are deemed to be exceptional for students to work for, those offering good opportunities and support. This can be a department within the University or an organisation employing students in the local area.
Above and beyond - Do you know, or are you, an exceptional students who consistently goes above & beyond for the organisation you work for? Nominations are invited to award amazing students who go above and beyond in their part-time jobs.
Step up to Leadership - This award aims to identify and recognise the leaders of tomorrow, today. We are looking for nominations where part-time student employees have stepped up and demonstrated leadership skills, taking responsibility for projects or departments.
Self-employed or Freelance - In the last few years we have seen a huge increase in the amount of students with entrepreneurial spirit and this award celebrates self-starters.
Internship - We want to hear about students who have made a positive impact to an organisation through their internship.
Team of the year - Teamwork is a vital skill and this award will honour groups of part-time students who have shown demonstrated this successfully, to come together for a shared project.
Employer of the year - This is an award to recognise excellent student employers who provide students with opportunities to learn and excel in the work place and who build links with education in order to support the next generation of workers.
