Durham is a world-leading university and proudly part of North East England. From inspiring learning to sharing our facilities, from driving economic growth to helping our region become more sustainable: we ensure that the benefits of a world-leading university are shared across our city, county and region.
This non-traditional carol concert raised almost £100,000 for the Foundation of Light to make a life-changing difference to thousands of local children and families. This is at a time when the charity’s work across Sunderland, South Tyneside and County Durham matters so much to so many.
Professor Karen O’Brien, Vice-Chancellor, Durham University, said: “The University was exceptionally proud to support this very special festive carol service which took place against the stunning backdrop of Durham Cathedral and had the added benefit of raising thousands of pounds for children and families in our region.”
