We’ve been ranked 5th in The Guardian University Guide 2022
As well as the overall ranking, we also have 24 subjects ranked in the top ten (11 in the top five), with two (Criminology and Music) being ranked first in the UK.
Theology and Religion, and Archaeology are ranked third, Classics & Ancient History, Earth Sciences, English Studies, Physics and Sport and Exercise Sciences are ranked fourth, while Chemistry and Engineering are ranked fifth.
These latest rankings further consolidate our position as a leading UK and global university. This year our position has improved in the Complete University Guide, the THE Global Impact Rankings and the QS World University Rankings 2021. We were the only university in the UK to show an increase in our position in all three of these rankings.
A world of opportunities for our students
We offer our students inspiring opportunities in whatever field their interests lie. We’re home to state-of-the-art sporting facilities and are Britain’s number one team sports university. Over 75 per cent of our students engage in sport and physical activity and this year several of our staff and students took part in the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Most of our courses offer opportunities for students to study abroad and we’ve recently been awarded a grant from the Turing Scheme, the UK government’s programme to study and work abroad. This will give more than 200 of our students the chance to study, work or volunteer abroad in the 2021/22 academic year.
If inspiring the next generation is what motivates you, then our schools engagement and volunteering programme has lots to offer. For example, a group of our students created the online Learn With Us Summer Camp, with over 450 hours of innovative, fun educational videos to help children keep up their learning during school holidays.
