Introducing the 2024 Durham University Classics Society Conference on the ancient history & modern reception of Classical Greek Theatre. An opportunity to discuss Greek tragedy, comedy and even musical theatre with renowned academics, actors, writers and directors including: Christopher Eccleston, Bryony Lavery, Nona Shepphard, Dr David Bullen and more.
The conference begins with four 30minute lectures in the morning from our wonderful Durham Classics Department lecturers – Dr Miles, Dr Baldwin & Dr Gazis – and UCL PhD student Ffion Smith, followed by a panel discussion in the afternoon looking at how and why we still use these fantastic classical stories.
